女性向けの映画 Chick flick

試写会で、「ホリデイ」という映画を見ました。
ロスアンジェルスの豪邸に住むアマンダとロンドン郊外の小さなかわいい家に住むアイリスが、お互いの家を交換して、2週間のクリスマス休暇を過ごすことになります。それぞれが傷ついた心を癒すための休暇です。ありがちなハッピーエンドのお話ですが、インターネットで顔も知らない相手とメールでやりとりをしてすぐに話がまとまってしまうストリーが今風だなと思いました。アメリカとイギリスの英語の発音の違いも聞けて興味深かったです。日本公開は、3月24日から。Chick Flickという言葉は、私の生徒が教えてくれました。ありがとう。

I saw the movie ‘Holiday’ at a preview.
Amanda lives in a big house in L.A. Iris lives in a small cute house in the suburbs of London. They decided to switch houses for two weeks during the Christmas vacation. They had broken hearts and wanted to heal them. It’s your usual happy-ending, but I think this story is very similar to stories of today. Because they only talked about their plans through e-mails over the internet, so they didn’t know one another. It’s also interesting to hear the differences in pronunciations of American and British English. You can see this movie from March 24th in Japan. My student taught me the expression ‘Chick Flick’.
