Michael-san, I think you have the feelings of artists. My mother's hometown is Kyoto and I went to Arashiyama with her a long time ago. I just spent half a day in the suburbs of Taipei. I thought they had very similar scenery in Japan.

Yesterday, I spoke to my friend in Kyoto. The conversation made me think of Arashiyama, and how it glows purple in late afternoon in the summer sun.
