網田焼 Oda ware

以前、ここで紹介をしました網田焼の蒼土窯の前田先生より「小坪菫」の額を頂きました。なぜそんなすごいものを頂いたかというと、先生からの依頼でスピーチなさった内容の英訳のお手伝いをしたからです。最初、私のような素人の拙い翻訳では申し訳ないと思ったのですが、先生が勇気づけて下さったこともあり思い切ってお引き受けしました。

I received a ‘Kotsubosumire’ Oda ware from Mr. Maeda. He is the owner of Oda wares’ Sodo kiln. I introduced him on my blog before. Maybe you’re wondering why I received this great gift from him. Well the reason is because I helped to translate for his speech in English. At first, I was worried that I couldn’t do it because of my poor English abilities, but he encouraged me to do it.

It's big news!
I've talked about Momo (Momoko) on my blog before.
She will be playing the role of Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar in June in Brooklyn, New York. Unfortunately, I can't go and see her in this musical, but if you are in New York in June, please go and cheer her on.

バラの庭のサロン Rose Garden Salon

バラの美しい季節になりました。そのバラを丹精込めて美しく咲かせた木村恭子さんのお庭で行われるサロンです。庭の持ち主である木村さんのバラにちなんだ手作りのお菓子やお茶を頂きながらお庭を楽しみます。木村さんは、ご自宅でテーブルコーディネートのクラスとお料理のクラスを開いています。サロンは今週からです。詳細は、彼女のHPをご覧下さい。

The season for roses has come. This is Mrs. Kyoko Kimura’s rose garden salon which she takes great care of. She is the owner of this garden. Here you can enjoy the roses with her handmade sweets and roses teas. She also has a table coordinating and cooking class at her home. This rose garden salon will start this week. コペンハーゲン Copenhagen

春になったとはいえデンマークのコペンハーゲンではまだ少し寒かったです。デンマークの人々は皆、英語を話しますが、町の標示がほとんどデンマーク語なので困りました。でも人々はとても親切で、ちょっと聞けば丁寧に教えてくれました。
Spring has come in Copenhagen in Denmark but it’s still a little cold there. Danish people speak English but there are few signs around the city in English. It was difficult to find places, but the people were very kind and when I asked for direction, they told me much.

宮殿の屋根にデンマークの国旗が出ている時は、女王様が在宮しているしるしです。
If the flag of Denmark is on the roof of the palace, it means the queen is there.


衛兵の交替 Changing of the Guards

毎日12:00ちょうどに始まる衛兵の交替式です。
The changing of the guards starts at 12:00pm everyday.


コペンハーゲン市庁舎 Kobenhavns Radhus

壮大な建物は、中央駅の側にある市庁舎です。
This magnificent building is city hall which is next to Central station.


ローゼンボー公園 Rosenborg Have

市内の風景は、まるで絵本の1ページのようです。
The scenery of the city is like a page from a picture book.

This image is ‘The Little Mermaid’ which was written by Hans Christian Andersen.

There were many ecology-conscious people riding bicycles there.

I was mind-boggled by the scale and beauty.

スカラ座 Teatro alla Scala

ラッキーなことに無料コンサートがあり、オペラ歌手の歌声に感動しました。
I was lucky because there was a free concert at Teatro alla Scala and I was　impressed by the opera singers’ voices.

サンタ・マリア・デッレ・グラツィエ教会 Santa Maria della Grazie

レオナルド・ダ･ヴィンチの「最後の晩餐」がある教会です。
残念ながら予約が取れず見られませんでした。
This is the church that has ‘The Last Supper’ painted by Leonardo da Vinci. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a reservation to see it.

コモ湖 Lago di Como

ミラノから電車で40分の美しい湖
Como Lake is beautiful and it takes 40 minutes by train from Milan.
