ノースカロライナ州南西部に位置する
最大の都市です。
18世紀後半のイギリス王妃シャーロットから由来して、市のニックネームは「クイーンシティ」。初期はゴールドラッシュで栄え、南北戦争後は綿織物産業が発展した。現在は、ニューヨークのウォール街に次いで2番目の金融都市として知られ、バンク・オブ・アメリカが本社をアップタウン（センターシティー）に置いています。
【交通】
▶シャーロット・ダグラス国際空港
アップタウンから西へ9kmの位置にあります。
USエアウェイズ最大のハブ空港で、ユナイテッド航空、デルタ航空、アメリカン航空が乗り入れている。全米各地、カナダ、中南米主要都市、西ヨーロッパ主要都市への便が発着しています。130都市へ直行便があり、発着便数は1日700便におよぶ。同空港の年間利用客数は全米で11位、全世界でも25位です。空港内は、Wi-Fiが無料。
▶鉄道アムトラック
アップタウンから3kmの場所に駅があり、3路線が走っています。
ニューヨークを朝7:05発の乗るとシャーロットには20:12に到着します。

▶シャーロットの気候は四季がはっきりしており、暑い夏と寒い冬、過ごしやすい春と秋に特徴つけられます。

サウスパークモールという巨大な商業施設では、様々なブランドの幅広いコレクションを置いていることで知られていて、またそれらブランド品をリーズナブルな値段で購入できることでも知られています。サウスパークモールとその周辺では、ショッピング、食事など、すべてのことで楽しむことが出来ます。

ミント博物館」を始め、多数の美術館や博物館がある。劇場も多くシャーロット交響楽団などが本拠地としています。

▶アメリカで人気のカーレースNASCARの聖地として知られ「
ナスカ―の殿堂博物館」があります。
▶NFL（ナショナル・フットボール・リーグ）に所属の
カロライナ・パンサーズは、バンク・オブ・アメリカ・スタジアムを本拠地にして、2003年にはスーパーボウルにも初出場しました。
▶NBA(ナショナル・バスケット・アソシエーション)に所属の
シャーロット・ボブキャッツは、2010年マイケル・ジョーダンがオーナーに就任しました。
※アメリカの多くの都市では中心部を「ダウンタウン」と呼びますが、地元最大の新聞社によって1987年よりシャーロットではアップタウンと呼ばれています。
Charlotte is the
largest city located in the southwestern part of North Carolina.
The nickname of the city is the “Queen City” because it is derived from the second half of the 18th century England Queen Charlotte.
In early times this city flourished in nation’s first gold rush and after the Civil War the cotton textile industries had developed. Now it is known as the second largest financial center in the U.S. followed by New York's Wall Street. There is a headquarter of Bank of America in the Uptown.

▶Charlotte-Douglas International Airport
It is located at 9km west of Uptown.
This airport is the largest hub of US Airway and United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines is served. There are arrivals and departures of airplanes throughout the United States, Canada, major cities of Latin America and Western Europe. There are direct flights to 130 cities, the number of flights are 700 per day. Annual passengers of the airport is ranked 11 in the United States, 25 in the world. Wi-Fi is free of charge inside the airport.

The Station is located at 3km from Uptown and there are 3 routes.
When you get on the train in New York at 7:05 am, you will arrive to Charlotte at 8:12 pm

SouthPark Mall is known for its widely collection of various brands. But it’s also known to be one of the most reasonable malls to purchase brand name goods. You can enjoy everything in the mall and its surrounding area. You can buy and eat everything there.
【Culture and Sports】
▶This city is the center of culture of both North and South Carolina. There are a number of art galleries and museums such as the "
Mint Museum" in Uptown. And also there are many theaters like “Blumenthal Performing Arts Center” for “Charlotte Symphony Orchestra”, Opera Carolina and so on.
▶It is home to a number of notable universities and colleges. There is University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
▶It is known as the holy place of the popular NASCAR race car in the U.S. There is “
NASCAR Hall of Fame”.
▶It is also home of the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League and the Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association. The
Carolina Panthers play their home games in Bank of America Stadium and played the first Super Bowl in 2003. Michael Jordan became the owner of
Charlotte Bobcats in 2010.
※The central area is referred to as "Downtown" in many cities in the U.S. but they call “Uptown” in Charlotte. It is from 1987 years by the largest local newspaper publisher.
